ABOUT COAST PEOPLE STRATEGIES
We spend a significant part of our lives at work.
The relationships we build, the way we’re led, the expectations placed on us and the environment around us all shape how we experience it.

Why COAST?
After more than 12 years in HR and people-focused roles, I’ve seen how much leadership, relationships and everyday workplace practices affect people’s experience at work.
When clarity, ownership, alignment, support or trust is missing, it becomes harder for people to feel connected and do their best work.
That’s why I created COAST: to help workplaces strengthen those foundations.
COAST WAS CREATED FROM A SIMPLE BELIEF:
Work can be more connected, intentional and human.
THE COAST APPROACH
A lens for understanding workplace connection
The five COAST foundations help us understand how people experience work and identify where connection needs strengthening.
C
CLARITY
Know where you’re going.
People need to understand what they’re working toward and what’s expected of them so they can see how their role contributes to the bigger picture.
O
OWNERSHIP
Know what’s yours to shape.
People are more engaged when they have a sense of agency, believe their voice matters and can influence how they contribute.
A
ALIGNMENT
Move in the same direction.
Alignment creates a shared understanding of how roles, priorities and goals fit together, so people can move forward without working against one another.
S
SUPPORT
Have what you need to succeed.
People need the resources, relationships and working conditions that allow them to navigate challenges without feeling they have to carry everything alone.
T
TRUST
Create space for honesty.
Trust creates the foundation for honest conversations, stronger relationships and meaningful collaboration.
THE PERSON BEHIND COAST
Meet Hayley
I’m a certified leadership coach, HR professional and founder of COAST People Strategies, with more than 12 years of experience working with leaders, teams and organizations.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked across a range of industries, supporting organizations through growth, change and the everyday realities of leading people. I’ve seen how pressure, uncertainty, competing priorities and leadership decisions shape how workplaces function and the experience people have within them.
Those experiences taught me to look beyond a single issue. When a team is facing challenges, I want to understand what’s happening across leadership, relationships and the work itself before deciding what support would help.
That perspective led me to bring HR consulting, leadership coaching and workplace wellbeing together through COAST. Each offers a different way to support people and the workplaces around them.
Whether I’m coaching a leader, advising an organization or facilitating a wellbeing experience, I make space to understand what’s happening and work towards greater connection and more sustainable ways of working.
TRAINING & CREDENTIALS
I’m professionally trained as a Leadership Coach from Coach Academy and currently working toward my Associate Certified Coach credential with the International Coaching Federation.
I’m also a certified Breath Coach. I offer dedicated breath coaching sessions and, when appropriate and agreed, I may bring breath practices into other services. These practices can support grounding, self-awareness and stress management.

A Little More About Hayley
Originally from Australia, I’ve called Canada home for the past eight years and now live in a small town in Ontario. Although I still miss a good Aussie beach, Canada has won me over with its lakes, seasons and all the little adventures that come with living here.
I don’t take life too seriously and firmly believe a good laugh can get you through just about anything. I’m naturally curious, love hearing people’s stories and value real, honest conversations. When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me spending time with my husband and friends, planning our next adventure or making the most of summer. I love travelling, paddleboarding, rock-climbing and dance.
